STEMLab Home-Schooling Academy is a proud assessment & tutoring centre catered towards
Home -Schoolers, driven by a passionate & experienced team with close to 20 years of experience
dedicated to empowering homeschooling families and educators across South Africa.We recognise the
growing desire for flexibility and autonomy in education. We are at the forefront of the movement toward
personalized learning experiences, offering far more than just materials we provide a comprehensive
homeschooling, facilitation and tutoring solution.
OUR EXPERIENCE & LEGACY
STEMLab Home-Schooling Academy forms part of the CAD4ALL Educational Group, which, for
nearly two decades, has offered award-winning tertiary learning, delivering certificates and Diplomas to
over 6500 learners. The CAD4ALL group works with over 100 schools in the Western Cape and more
than 450 nationwide where we have successfully implemented Digital Arts and CAD Design into the
EGD curriculum.

Home-Schooling has grown in popularity as an alternative to traditional schooling, offering flexibility
and personalised learning experiences. In partnership with various educational partners, STEMLab
supports parents in embracing this rewarding educational journey.
THE ACADEMIC CURRICULUM
STEM Lab has chosen Mindscape Education, as the preferred Curriculum Provider, to deliver a CAPSaligned curriculum of exceptional quality. This curriculum is designed to be user-friendly and to equip our
learners with the tools they need to achieve academic excellence. Established in 2015, Mindscape Education offers a comprehensive curriculum and assessment framework
for Grades R through 12, available in both English Home Language and Afrikaans Huistaal. Mindscape provides a complete “school-in-a-box” solution, which includes textbooks, literature resources, technology
kits, and more,streamlining the educational experience for both learners and educators. A key feature of Mindscape’s offering is its fully integrated student portal, which grants access to over 11,000
pre-recorded lessons. These lessons are carefully aligned with the CAPS curriculum and serve as valuable tools for revision, concept reinforcement, and addressing learning gaps, while also helping students deepen
their understanding of key topics. For learners in Grades 11 and 12, there is the option to choose between two accredited examination bodies,SACAI and IEB. These organizations administer the National Senior Certificate (NSC), which
serves as the official Grade 12 exit qualification in South Africa
Comprehensive Learning Beyond the Classroom
- Beyond the core curriculum, learners have access to our optional STEMCLUB afterschool program, delving deeper into Robotics, Coding, Engineering, and Design .This not only enhances academic excellence but also gives learners a competitive edge while having fun.
- At STEMLab, our Holiday Camps are a thrilling extension of our year-round STEM learning journey! Every activity is carefully designed to immerse learners in exciting fields like coding, robotics, engineering, and design, while also mixing in outdoor excursions and fun mini sports to keep the energy and excitement high.
- STEMLab is the only institution offering parents a complete “ 365-day" educational solution,from our home -school tutoring centre , operating Monday to Friday from 08h00 to 14h30, to our dynamic After-School Program from 15h00 to 18h00, and then access to all our Holiday Camps throughout the year. Our approach not only focuses on academic excellence but also equips learners with real-world skills
like financial literacy, CAD design, 3D modeling & 3D printing. By including practical life skills in
the curriculum, we ensure that our learners are prepared not just academically but holistically for their

ANNUAL REQUIREMENTS
- At STEMLab, we embrace a blended learning approach where learners complete our curriculum through our advanced online learning platform, while attending daily sessions in our state-of-the-art labs. Our qualified educators offer continuous academic support and tutoring, ensuring that every learner receives personalised attention to reach their full potential.
- To participate in our program, each learner is required to have their own laptop, which will be fully configured during Induction and Orientation Week with all the necessary Learning Management System (LMS) access and curriculum tools.
- As part of the STEM requirements, learners will also receive four Coding & Robotics kits per year (one per term). These kits are carefully tailored to the Coding and Robotics subjects each term, providing an immersive, hands-on experience that extends far beyond the traditional classroom environment.
- All required stationery, consumables, and educational kits are conveniently available for purchase through the STEMLab Retail Section, ensuring families have easy access to everything needed for a seamless and inspiring learning journey.

School-in-a-Box curriculum provides everything needed for a well-rounded and enriching educational
experience from Grade R to Matric.
- Full online curriculum - via our Learning Management System, allowing parents to track progress and request tutoring in our labs specific to each learner's needs.
- Online lessons - for all grades in language and science subjects through our pre-recorded lesson portal ,assisting learners with revision and reinforcement
- Prescribed readers - for languages, helping to develop language skills with engaging and ageappropriate materials.
- Learner Support Files - comprehensive study guides, worksheets, and activities tailored to different learning styles.
- Tasks and Tests for the year - formative and summative assessments to track learning progress
- Detailed termly reports -providing valuable feedback and guiding future academic goals.
